All-Star week is the unofficial mid-point of the MLB season and our MLB expert picks are ready for the American and National leagues as well as who they think has the best chance at take home the AL and NL MVP awards. BetQL is your your home for all the latest MLB predictions throughout the season. Make sure to check back daily for all the latest.
It seems like every year at this time, we're looking at the American League and there's a different front runner. Last Year the Tigers looked like they were going to dominate the Central only to have a collapse in the second-half that has carried on until today. The same can be said for the Blue Jays who made it to the World Series last year, but are currently in last place in the East, 12 game behind the Rays. New the Central and West are battlegrounds with three teams in each division fighting for the top spots. Check out DraftKings latest odds for the AL Champ.
Let's be honest, there's a clear favorite in the NL and if you think it's any team but the Dodgers you're crazy. L.A. is currently sitting 11.5 game in front of the Diamondbacks in the West and have the best record in MLB. The Brewers and Braves went into the All-Star break leading the Central and East respectively. The Brewers have the second highest run difference in MLB at +126 as they look to improve on the great season they had in 2025. Below are the current odds for NL Champion.
There is a clear front runner for the AL MVP in Yordan Alvarez. He's currently batting .318, with 31 HRs and 70 RBIs at the break. Those numbers are good enough to put him in the top 4 in MLB in all those categories and he's currently got a 60% on Polymarket. Bobby Witt Jr. is currently getting the second best odds on Polymarket at 16%. Witt is batting .286, with 13 HRs and 39 RBIs, which are all "decent" on their own, but are pretty great when combined. The 26 year old is projected to have the best season of his five year career. If it'll be enough to surpass Alvarez remains to be seen.
Shohei Ohtani currently leads the odds on Polymarket at 86% in the race for NL MVP. In addition to being top 25 in batting average, home runs, RBIs and OPS, he's got an 8-2 record in 14 starts this season with a 1.79 ERA. Shohei is already a 4 time and current reigning NL MVP who could easily make it 4 in a row. His only real competition at the moment is Pete Crow-Armstrong. The Cubs CF is top 20 in batting average, home runs and OPS, but has been lacking in RBIs with just 53 so far this season. Polymarket currently has PCA at 12% odds to take home the MVP. I think that if he isn't able to take the Home Run crown and really improve his RBIs, he's going to have a tough road against the best 2-way player in modern times.
