The Yankees' World Series Odds Look Like Great Early Value

The Yankees have a lot of potential and value at +900 to win the World Series

The 2024 MLB season will be here before we know it, and now is the time to start looking at the futures market to see if we can find any value on teams heading into the year. The key is to find a team that we think is valuable at their current odds, one who we think will have their odds drop as the year moves on. These can be sleepers or favorites, value is everywhere as long as you have good reasoning behind it.

BetQL will have you covered all season long on a game-by-game basis to keep you winning money all summer. Let's take a look at a team below that I think has some good value at the current price in the market.

World Series Odds: New York Yankees +900, DraftKings

Before the last MLB season began, I gave you the Texas Rangers to win the World Series at a huge number, and I hope you listened. You cashed in huge, and we are going to try to run it back this season as I release some of my favorite futures bets for the upcoming 2024 season.

While everyone is still focused on basketball and hockey right now, we will look ahead to baseball, where the market is still a bit soft with the lack of attention. One team that caught my eye right off the bat is the New York Yankees, who are around +900 odds to win the World Series.

I think this could be the year that New York bounces back in a big way and seriously contends for a championship again. After last season's pathetic showing from the Yankees, everyone is down on them heading into 2024. No matter how much money this team has spent over the last few years, they have not been able to make it work at a high level. I think this could help us.

This offseason, they made some good moves that I think will help them take a step in the right direction.

First off, the big trade to acquire superstar Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres will help, and we don't have to spend much time talking about his impact on the team. He gives them a great left-handed bat towards the top of the lineup to compliment Aaron Judge, who we will talk about in a minute. They also got Trent Grisham in that trade, and while he has never hit for a great average, has shown that he can be a clutch player.

Another move getting overlooked is the acquisition of Alex Verdugo from the Boston Red Sox. Verdugo is a career .281 hitter who also adds another much-needed left-handed option to the lineup. He had one of his best seasons last year with a 2.6 WAR and should be able to continue to grow on that since he is just 27 years old.

Now, I mentioned that Aaron Judge is another reason why I love the Yankees this season. Yes, that is quite an obvious statement, but I like him this season because he is coming off a down year where he hit just .267 and had only 37 home runs. He was due for regression after his record-breaking 2022 season, but now he has a good chance to bounce back in a big way. Maybe he won't break records, but I expect the outfielder to crush the ball in 2024.

Pitching for New York includes Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole, who has been as consistently good as you can ask for any starter in MLB. Outside of him, there are questions as to the effectiveness of the staff, but ones that I think have serious upside.

Let's start with Carlos Rodon, who was terrible last season after coming over from the San Francisco Giants. Rodon started his career looking like a bust, but he found himself in his last season with the Chicago White Sox and then had an incredible year in San Francisco in which he was in the mix for a Cy Young. I think he was dealing with lingering injuries still when he came back in the middle of the season for New York, and he has been prone to injury his whole career. Now he will be healed up and fresh, which I think grants him a huge upside.

Nestor Cortes also had a down year and was plagued by injury. He's proved he can be a great pitcher when healthy. They also just signed former Cubs ace Marcus Stroman, who started last year on fire but cooled off in the second half.

I'm betting on the potential of this team, and I think there is quite a lot of value here. At 9/1 odds, I'll take a shot at them to win the 2024 World Series.
